[Upton Blues Festival Floods]
All of you who have watched the news over the weekend will have followed the fate of Upton-upon-Severn as the flood waters rose completely cutting off the town.
Our thoughts are with the people of Upton, the owners of the businesses there and the organisers of the Blues Festival who watched a year of hard work literally washed away.
200 Buderus guests were due to attend the festival and at 7.00 am on Saturday it was clear that we had to contact everyone before they started setting off from home. Two families had decided to travel on Friday and sadly spent hours stuck as the M5 ground to a halt. Two members of the Buderus team, Heather and Hannah got stranded in the town on Friday, helping out stranded guests by handing out dry T-shirts to people who had been caught in the floods and were sheltering at the Star Hotel.
Luckily we were able to get both Heather and Hannah out of Upton on Saturday.
We will obviously be contacting all the guests who had accepted our invitation to the festival over the coming weeks. We had an incredible response from customers wanting to attend the Blues Festival and I hope that we can find a way of supporting this event in the future. We will keep you informed with news of the festival as soon as we have it.
