To further enhance the energy efficiency of our stainless steel condensing boilers Buderus have developed an innovative heating surface design called Kondens +.

This patented technology, as the name suggests, improves the boilers ability to condense by creating micro-turbulence in the flow of hot flues gasses. Micro-turbulence is achieved by crimping the outer surface of the heat exchanger at regular intervals, this alters the flow of hot flue gasses and increases the volume of gas that comes into contact with the cold heat exchanger surface, and this encourages a greater quantity of water vapour to condense. The effect is enhanced as the diameter of the heat exchanger tube decreases along its length and so the flue gasses maintain their speed, resulting in minimal pressure loss and optimum heat transfer. It is estimated that Kondense + technology can improve system efficiency by as much as 10% when compared to smooth heat exchanger surfaces and flue temperatures which are only 5 to 10 degrees above the return temperature.
