[Polat Tower Residence, Istanbul]
Brief
Business in the new millennium makes increasing demands on its employees, so staff, particularly commuters, want to make ever more efficient use of their time. So, for example, time lost in traffic in conurbations has become a pressing issue. To address the need of living close to the workplace, the Polat Tower Residence was built in Istanbul to provide optimum convenience through high-tech living in comfortable studio apartments against a splendid architectural backdrop.
This block comprises 400 apartments, parking for 650 vehicles, a covered swimming pool, a fitness centre, a heliport and three cinemas. Furthermore, at the entrance of the apartment block, there are 34 retail units, including a mini market, a drycleaner, a hairdresser, a solarium, a tailor and a delicatessen. Every apartment is equipped with air conditioning, remote controlled domestic equipment and many other features. The Polat Tower Residence is one of the best examples of domestic automation in the world.
Solution
To provide similarly high heating convenience, four Logano SK725 low-temperature steel boilers with an output of 1320kW (one as standby system) have been installed on the top floor. These are controlled by two Logamatic R4311 and two R4312 control systems, together with an FM447 strategy module. 400 Logalux S120 DHW cylinders ensure every apartment enjoys the highest DHW convenience.
The heating system has been engineered by Dinamik Proje (Istanbul). The installation was carried out by ERTA (Istanbul).
