Brief
The Prado Museum, in Madrid, covers some 28,600 square metres, making it one of the largest art galleries in the world. The neo-classical building was completed at the end of the 18th century and was originally designed as a natural history museum.
After serving as a munitions depot during the Napoleonic wars, it was first used as an art museum in 1819. Today, the museum cares for more than 9000 artworks, of which 1500 are on exhibition. The Spanish Royal Family began the collection, which comprises in the main, paintings and masterpieces by Italian, Spanish and Dutch artists such as Tiziano, Tintoretto, El Greco, Goya, Velasquez and Rubens.
Solution
All rooms inside the museum are heated by two Logano SE725-1 600kW steel boilers. System control is provided by two Logamatic R4212 control units.
ACH (Madrid) designed the system and Atil Cobra (Madrid) implemented its installation.
